I was flying on a long cross-country flight recently and stumbled on this short essay by Kristin van Ogtrop, in Time Magazine. The essay offered my soul some needed peace—a brief respite from the aftermath of a very nasty election. Spoiler alert: be forewarned but there’s absolutely no political commentary in what’s about to come. I think you’ll find it soothing as I did. Enjoy!
A variety of clinical studies have shown that practicing “THIS” one thing, this “skill” can have a lasting and positive impact on your attitude, emotions, health, happiness AND your ability to attract positive things (and people) in your life. Some scientists and researchers suggest it has the power to speak directly to the hearts and minds of others. And, it’s surprisingly easy. Enjoy!
I’m a big fan of persuasive people-communications, especially when there is authentic science-based evidence supporting the techniques or strategies. In his thought-provoking book: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear, Dr. Frank Luntz offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the tactical use of words and phrases can affect what we buy, who we vote for, and even what we believe in. In this edition, we’ll discover seven power words and phrases that not only resonate with people—but when used appropriately can help you move some people out of their head and into their heart.

Several weeks ago I met a bright young college student at a conference in California. I asked him if he’d like to take look at one of my favorite business projects to see if it might be a fit for him. He agreed, so I emailed him several streaming videos. A few days later he got back and said, “no thanks” because (1) he’d just started a new job and (2) he’d had some bad experiences in the past with network marketing. However, he also asked a VERY interesting question at the end of his email. In this short audio [5:44] please “look over my shoulder” as I respond to this important question.
